Today I had another full audience, but unlike yesterday, they knew how to laugh!
I was a bit worried beforehand because it had poured down with rain the entire day. In the end though, I filled the room, so it was all ok. I mean, apart from having to walk around in soaking wet clothes all day.
And as I said, it was a pleasant show to play. Still a little tired and effected by the heat, so not my best show, but more than good enough.
It didn’t help that both of the microphones were knackered. I swapped the mics around, but it didn’t help. In the end I had to give in and go without a mic altogether. That didn’t help with my already ailing voice.
The audience were kind to me with the collection, giving generously. One guy went a step further and gave me a strip of Strepsils (as you can see from the picture).
Rest
After my show I did the late ComedySportz show and then a last minute booking with them for Comedy Club 4 Kids. Both very nice shows.
Then I had to traipse back to the flat in the rain. But I knew at the end of the journey I could change out of wet clothes, and in to nice warm pyjamas.
Add to that a nice £10 meal deal from Tescos (including a bottle of Rosé, since drained), and Match of the Day 2, and I was a very happy bunny indeed.
Hopefully this will have been enough to build up my reserves for the next few days.
My show, Shit Socialist, is on 3.15pm, 1-25 Aug, at The Counting House (Attic). Free entry, PWYW.
ComedySportz is on twice daily – INFO
